Do most rescues utilize Thermal Imaging Cameras (TICs)?

Most rescues do not typically utilize Thermal Imaging Cameras (TICs) as a standard practice. While TICs are valuable tools that offer distinct advantages, such as detecting body heat and identifying hot spots in fire scenarios, their use is not universal across all rescue operations. Many rescues may rely on other methods and tools that are better suited to specific situations, such as technical rescue, confined space operations, or urban search and rescue.

In addition, when resources are limited, personnel may prioritize using traditional search methods over TICs, especially in situations where visibility is adequate or where other forms of technology can provide more immediate or relevant information. As a result, while TICs are indeed beneficial in certain contexts, they are not employed in most rescues, leading to the conclusion that the majority of rescue operations do not depend on them as a standard tool.
